Could it really be so simple? Putting old emails into a folder in Thunderbird synced with GMail via IMAP imports those messages into GMail?

@CountryMeadow Outlook is great and IMO far superior to Outlook Express. Much to my DH amusement I currently use Thunderbird.

Trying to get my email from Outlook Express on my laptop moved over to Thunderbird on my iMac. Should be interesting.

@gortron Thanks... I love Thunderbird too. I'm such a digital immigrant: I still prefer to download my mail to a desktop client :-).

@gortron On the thunderbird thing, I turned off the compact folders option and it's been zipping along ever since.

Thunderbird is nice, but Evolution also allows me to access my calendar on the Outlook Server. I'm switching.

Switching to Outlook 2007. Thunderbird was too slow and boring.
