@GeorgeReese Why Rackspace, and not GoGrid or OCCI or some other? Is it marketing/support from Rackspace, or an inherent advantage?

Network Issue Cited in Rackspace Outage
Rackspace says a network peering problem caused a lengthy outage this afternoon that affected many sites using its Cloud Sites cloud computing service. The outage affected sites at the company's Dallas data center, but Rackspace said the peering issue...

Is there something wrong with Rackspace? I can't say I've seen an entire frickin host just go offline before - until them.

@iamenspired i am not impressed. Had pretty good luck w/ slicehost.com (owned by Rackspace) but there have been outages like this before

@joncaves Looks like the issue was troubles at @Rackspace, where our servers are hosted. Fixed now!

@realSMILEY Yeah, Pair Networks is great. They are as good as (if not better) than Rackspace, just without all the overt marketing.

By the way, @slicehost (owned by @rackspace) is still up.
