@chrisindallas The TivoHD hooks to the same coax the FIOS STB used; it uses a cablecard to decode it -- no IR channel switching.

Holy crap, FIOS is fast. We've got a very good DSL line at home, but except at the colo, I've never seen 36MB of updates arrive that quick.

@shellyroche Well, hopefully w/ FiOS, 4G, Wi-Max etc there will be even more competition in the future. That would solve a lot of problems.

Verizon made cancelling my DSL easy and nice. I'll miss their CS reps, but speed wins, and they can't compete w/o FiOS in my area.
