Hi Thomas, Your writing on this blog is to be commended. You are truly a gifted and passionate Rays fan. However, you seem to have been misguided in your search for a “true” American championship ball club. Ask yourself Thomas, “Which team has the oldest ball park in the country and continues to sell out night after night”? “Which team made the biggest play off come back in history during the 2004 season against the dreaded Yankees? Only to sweep the World Series contender? In New England, we are not just fans; rather it’s a “religion”. If you don’t believe me then just look up obituaries from the area and take note at how many of our beloved past want to be remembered as a dedicated Red Sox fan. Now the Rays have certainly earned some respect (cheap ticket prices help to, when you’re willing to pay $100 to $300/ticket then we can talk) but I think you’re barking up a tree that only goes so far. The Rays will be lucky if they find themselves back in the play offs again this year. It will depend on how well or bad the Yankees and Red sox do (you know it’s true).
