Tony McKeever received provincial colours in swimming, diving, waterpolo, and lifesaving. He received Springbok colours for white water rafting, having won the Tugela and Orange River races five times and competed in Boise Idaho on the Payette & Snake rivers in the US. and Swan River in Perh Australia.

Tony ran the Mainstay Cup soccer competition for 4 years which had over 2,000 teams participating in the competition and then wrote the blue print for the NPSL, for the creation and establishment of Soccer City in Soweto, now known as the FNB Stadium, which will be the main venue for the 2010 World Cup. Tony consulted for SA Rugby for 3 months on their Marketing & Communications and was recruited to be CEO of the Southern & Eastern Cape Super 14 Rugby franchise, the Southern Spears. In 2 weeks he launched the brand the Southern Spears to be representative of the whole region and to be a blueprint for rugby in South Africa and 2 weeks later signed two sponsors for the Spears.
