I'm a veteran newspaperman and book author. I am the managing editor of a Texas daily newspaper, and I have three published books: ANGEL FIRE (1998 novel), THE DEADLINE (1999 mystery) and FALL: THE RAPE AND MURDER OF INNOCENCE IN A SMALL TOWN (2007 true crime/memoir)

I'm now working on my fourth book, the story of an extraordinary road trip I took with my 19-year-old son to the edge of the earth.
