Mike Blumenthal most recently has been consulting and writing about Local Search and Google Maps. Prior to that he was responsible for developing the marketing plan and technical documentation for RapidWeb content management system. He has over 35 years experience in the computer, imaging & internet industries and is a technology consultant to many of the area's businesses. He has an extensive background in local search, system design, computer graphics and digital photography. Prior to his current consulting he was an instructor for an outdoor wilderness training school, N.O.L.S., in Africa, Alaska and Wyoming.

In his spare time he works on local development issues, experiments with nature photography, & digital slideshows, reads, cooks, gardens, goes on walks with his wife, Darlene. Even though he lives in snow country, he rarely shovels snow as an extracurricular activity. He is of the belief that if Mother Nature put it there, she can deal with it.
