I just found your blog about dutch ancestry, very nice! My husband and I backpacked through Europe for our honeymoon (more years ago than I'ld like to admit.) We flew in to Amsterdam. In hindsight, I wish I had been into genealogy back then, I had no idea at the time that I had a dutch connection, what a missed opportunity. Anyway,I have a particular ancestor that I am not sure was English or Dutch, but the story goes she was living in Holland in the 17th century (to avoid religious persecution in England perhaps) and married a dutchman and they together set sail for the New World. After a ship wreck and an indian attack, she eventually found herself at New Amsterdam. Her name was Penelope Van Princin and she married Richard Stout in New Amsterdam. Just wanted to say, nice to meet you, and I look forward to reading your blog. Kim
