About the culture I grew up in?

I am native Chinese, born on 1979 March in a village in Hunan province in south-central China. Only from 1979, China started to open the door to the world. Reform also took place in our rural areas. Farmers did not work in a collectivization-owned field any longer, they have their own land and mountain to plant crops and trees as they like. They can harvest more if they work hard and therefrom China get into a society where people can dress warmly and ear their fills. You must understand, it is the first time for all Chinese to have enough to eat and dress in 5000-year history. To 2000, Chinese people made a historic leap from having only adequate food and clothing to leading a well-off life. And today, living standard in many regions, especially in coastal cities has attained developed countries' level.
