Shireen Mitchell is the founder and Executive Officer of Digital Sisters/Sistas, Inc. a non-profit organization focused on using digital media and technology to access self-sufficiency tools for women and children who are traditionally underserved.

Shireen is also president of Community Technology Centers' Network (CTCNet), which promotes effective technology integration for the social, civic, and economic security into the lives of low-income communities, and serves as the Chair of the Media and Technology Taskforce of the National Council of Women's Organizations.

She is a member of the Women's Coalition of Dignity and Diversity in the Media. Shireen specializes in working on reversing the adverse impact of media and technology on the lives of minorities and families led by women.

She is author of "Gaining Daily Access to Science and Technology" in the book "50 Ways to Improve Women's Lives". She is a blogger at WomenWiredIn.com
