My name is Derrick Mathis and Uncle Fatlips is my blog. In addition to my background as an arts & entertainment writer for such publications as Billboard magazine, LA Weekly, Vibe, Yahoo Music and several other online and print outlets, I’m also a staunch consumer advocate and a happy native of Los Angeles.
These days, I work in consumer advocacy law as a researcher and the in-house bloggist for a respectable law firm in downtown Los Angeles. That’s my day job. But by night I’m Uncle Fatlips–the man behind LA’s daily cheat sheet.
