My goal is to tackle a societal problem involving the transfer of scientific information from the laboratory to the general public.

So many times the most time-sensitive, applicable, and relevant information

for improving the quality of life in a small coastal community is dependent on the WAY in which it is delivered. Often times the process of how to deal with this information is overly complicated and construed in such a way that people do not want to engage. i.e. "Planning to

manage people is very different than managing a plan for people." I want to volunteer out in the ocean with scientists and capture valuable information before it reaches the desk of the researchers and formulate simple action steps for the towns who need it most…so they can help themselves and not have to wait for political realities to reach the level of consensus required to make positive projects happen now.
