Before starting her public speaking coaching business, Lisa Braithwaite, a Santa Barbara native, worked in the nonprofit sector for sixteen years as an advocate, educator and trainer. She developed and implemented programs, curricula, and training materials for local organizations, and facilitated groups and workshops.

Her areas of expertise in training and education include adult learning principles, communication skills development and gender equity issues.

Lisa has a B.A. in Theater and an M.A. in Education. She is also the co-founder of the nonprofit organization Body Electric, a Santa Barbara organization that promotes sports, physical activity, and gender equity for women and girls.
