I am a 40-something (soon to be 50, so that tells you what the “something” is) Canadian gal who has chosen to settle in Calgary - at least for the time being. I have four grown children and live with Tom, my main squeeze and chief houseboy.

I grew up in northern British Columbia, tramping through the bush and communing with birds and trees. I do miss the quiet and solitude of that kind of life, but for now we are staying where the children and grandbabies are. Even so, I am a Nature Girl still. You can take the girl out of the country, but, well… you know.

My education is in computers and I am currently working downtown, on contract with one of Canada’s major oil and gas companies in their web department. One of my main hobbies is researching data on a particular ancient civilization. And lately I have grown extremely interested in “urban homesteading.”
