Blair Hornstine is currently a law student scheduled to receive her Juris Doctor in 2010, and will then go on to practice law to fight on behalf of those who do not have the means or know-how to stand up for themselves. Her fervor for helping others less fortunate than herself stems from a long history of personal hardship and charitable works done in the name of appreciating one's own health and good fortune.

In 1998, Ms. Hornstine was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease that left her fatigued all the time and ravaged her body with sores and rashes. It was determined by the school board and various medical professionals that she was physically unable to attend high school and should receive specialized home school in order to complete her degree. She was not given any breaks or special treatment under this condition, and yet she attained the highest GPA in her high school.
