I used to be on a fast career track and full of ambition until we ran into a brick wall of bad childcare and were forced to consider the possibility of my staying home. After researching, analyzing and pondering the question to death, I finally decided to stay home with my kids. My adjustment period was probably a bit longer than average. I hated answering the inevitable cocktail party question, "So, what do you do?" but after several years I began to embrace my new life and was finally able to say, "Being a mom is great!"
