First saw kiting in 2000 on an expedition to windsurf waves off Punta San Carlos, Mexico - led by Hawaiian waterman Sierra Emory who brought a kite. After that trip, I wanted to teach myself so a friend gave me one of Laird Hamilton's extra kites - a Naish ARX 9.5. I've been hooked ever since. Full bio on CRV's website.
