what about foreclosures....don't bank personnel have connections with a lot of real estate people that snatch up most of the bargains before
In my market very few of the foreclosure homes are bought by Realtors themselves. Regular people have a perfect shot at getting them. Investors often have an edge if they are buying with cash, but some programs, like those foreclosures owned by HUD...

Will a bank move any faster in a short sale if the bid is a cash bid?
Unfortunately, no. it is hard to get a bank to do anything faster with short sales. I tell all my buyers to be prepared to wait. And wait. And wait. It can be worth it though if you have found the right house! Good luck.
