I hope the students get a chance to learn about Journey Home and realize the effort that went into it, but not merely as a book, but a book written by someone outside the main stream press without all the hoopla, and written for the sole purpose of putting pen to paper of having this itch to write, a passion for a good story and a purpose beyond self -and the knowledge that if even just one person reads their work and is enlightened, entertained, or learns something new then their efforts are not in vain, and that the act of creativity - the process is as deeply rewarding as the finished product (if not more so). That is the lesson of Journey Home as well as the novel as an end result in and of itself. Only then can their writing be beyond the trappings of fame and fortune and reach a more satisfying end (regardless of sales). Journey Home has been and will continue to be an awe inspiring experience to the author as it evolves and continues on it's own Journey and the seeds it sows over time and distance are genuine. That being the operative word.
