I'm something of a 20th-century Don Quixote, attached to classical virtues and traditional values in an age of irrepressible hedonism. That makes me a conservative, because all too many people take the good things we have inherited from the past for granted, and all too many people imagine we can enjoy liberty and prosperity without responsibility and sacrifice.

My blog is primarily for me to read in one place the news I am interested in, to offer to other people important news (BETTER than DRUDGE) with my academically and life experience informed views, and to vent some spleen from time to time on all the nonsense out there--and to have some fun! Tune in for pic of the day, and basically, all the news you need.

Oh, and my pic? He's a Dumb Ox! The name comes from what fellow students used to call Thomas Aquinas. Big melon head, and man of few words.

Blessings upon you and yours...
