On behalf of donation agencies across the state, I'm the Campaign Manager for the Donate Life Illinois campaign - an 18-month effort that launched in January 2007 to register 3.5 million people in the state's new organ/tissue donor registry.

Many folks in Illinois do not realize that they need to re-register post Jan. 1, 2006 to join the state's new first-person consent registry and that signing the back of your driver's license is no longer adequate in Illinois.

Donate Life Illinois is part of a larger effort called Donate Life America, which is working to register 100 million people nationwide by April 2008.
