Migrating to Yahoo! IDs
We have discontinued the old MyBlogLog.com IDs, in favor of Yahoo! IDs. Everyone logging into MyBlogLog will have to use a Yahoo! ID to gain entrance to our little community.
When you sign in, you will be prompted to merge your MyBlogLog ID with a Yahoo! ID - you can choose an existing Yahoo! ID or create a new one.
Why migrate to Yahoo! IDs?
There were a few reasons we did this:
- Primarily this was done because most of our customer support issues were related to customers having trouble logging into the site. We found that by using the uber-secure ID system that Yahoo! uses, we could offer you more efficient logins, deeper security and faster customer service. We also found that by chasing lost emails, misplaced passwords and scrambled reset codes, we were sacrificing valuable development time, which equals less cool, new features for you.
- This change also allows us to be introduced to millions of people who are already using Yahoo! IDs by making integration on other Yahoo! properties much easier.
Using Yahoo!'s existing ID system to manage MyBlogLog logins allows us to focus on growing the community.
The Migration Process
To merge, just sign into Yahoo with your Yahoo! ID and password. After signing in, we'll ask you for your MyBlogLog User ID and MyBlogLog password. Once this is done, you will always use your Yahoo! ID to sign into MyBlogLog.
Note: If you do not have a Yahoo! ID, you can sign up for a free account here.
Will I lose my current screen name?
No. You'll keep your current screen name and your current avatar. You'll even be able to choose your favorite email address for email notifications. We aren't forcing you to use the one on file for your Yahoo! ID. Everything stays the same, except your login details.
Problems
I've forgotten my Yahoo! ID password. No problem, just visit the Sign-In Problems page and give them some basic information to verify the account is your account.
I've forgotten my MyBlogLog password. Click the 'Forgot My Password' link on the homepage and you will be emailed instructions to reset your password. If this doesn't work, contact us and we'll help you.
I've forgotten the email I used to login to MyBlogLog. Contact us and request your email address. Please include your MyBlogLog username and blog, if you have one, so we can find you in the system.
What if I have multiple MyBlogLog usernames?
Each user account at MyBlogLog can be tied to ONE Yahoo! ID. If you want to keep all those accounts, you're going to have to have one Yahoo! ID for each of them.
