So it’s that time of year again, another cohort of student nurses start the long and no doubt arduous journey to becoming a registered nurse. All that paperwork, applications, interviews and sorting out childcare, finances, travel, accommodation...

This feels like deja vu! Recession = job losses and what a surprise, the NHS is in the firing line again!The Nursing Times article (1-7 Sept issue)  reckons that 6,500 nurses will lose their jobs in the next three years as a results of spending cuts...
